"I'm not really sure why I finally made the leap and sought out a trainer. Money was tight, and I had always told myself that I could take care of weight loss on my own. But after twenty years of getting nowhere, it was time to admit defeat. I needed help.

I was very skeptical at first. I saw myself getting some guidance from Matt for a couple of weeks, then going on my own. But in the back of my mind I knew that I would not be successful if left to my own devices. I always had excuses to not exercise or to break diets. There was always 'tomorrow.' I needed someone else to guide me and to whom I would be accountable.

Matt turned out to be the ideal person. He is personable and easy to work with, yet he pushes me hard and keeps me focused. He is extremely knowledgeable about nutrition, and he has helped me to curb my impulse eating by giving me sample menus (geared to my lifestyle) and tips on problem areas that I have. As for exercise and weight-training, Matt shows me how to make the most out of the gym’s equipment, keeping me on a fast track as I move from one area to another. Matt keeps adding more weights and lifting the treadmill higher and demanding I pedal the bikes at speeds I would never do on my own.

In the past thirteen weeks, I lost 38 pounds. I have had a few slips – especially when I was out-of-town or was with family during holidays. But Matt helped me refocus and continue on. And today it’s very obvious that I am stronger as well as thinner. I am lifting weights I never would have considered before; a long flight of stairs that I trudged up before I now run (three or more times in succession). I am looking to lose another 35 pounds in the next thirteen weeks.

I would highly recommend Matt as a trainer to anyone who is serious about either weight loss or weight training. I am just sorry I didn’t discover Matt years ago."
